The Mopings of a Has-Been: How to Hurt a Porn Slut's Feelings

It doesn't hurt my feelings when juvenile commentators, unperceptive bloggers, and insipid strangers denounce me online or in person. At its worst, it can be a nuisance, like a pimple that just won't go away. At its best, it can be something I thrive on, fueling my flame for a little while longer. But mostly I just find it amusing that some people actually take the time to scorn me. Whatever my detractors may say about me, it never manages to actually get me down.

What does hurt my feelings, however, is finding out that the studio I am signed to and have worked with for over two years, a "family" that I was told I still belong to, threw a party and didn't invite me... Thanks guys. I love being left out.

  2. I've been working on a poetry series about the porn industry. This little bit best tells exactly what has happened to you:

But as long as the cash is rolling in
At least, I’ll have you as my friend
Soon as my name leads the well running dry
You’ll have no shame biding our friendship “goodbye”

It's a sad fact that the stigma associated with the porn industry is coming so true for you. More so for you, because you got so much deeper into it than I did. So I know it may hurt, but it's best that you channel your energies to bigger and better things. The fact that you went public with your HIV status may be your sub-conscience at work to get to those bigger and better things.

  3. Your not the only hiv postive porn star out there so just because they are stupid, realize you are better than that you are loved and people do care so xoxoxoxoxo you always have my support

  4. Forget it. Not worth it. You have a life that starts now. Enjoy, be happy. Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

  5. Austin Wilde recently did an interview with (@PapiInMiamiFL) on the papi chulo radio show/podcast and was asked about HIV and he said that was a sensitive subject and he personal has 10-15 friends that have tested positive.

My guess is people are uncomfortable with the subject and dont want to deal with it if they dont have to.

  7. I guess you were quite serious at Twitter the other night :( Sorry for making a facetious comment to that.

They are spineless cowards. My own less dramatic and serious experience, severe depression period and being diagnosed as someone who will always have to take preventive medication for it, had one good thing about it: I found out who my real friends are. They still are everything for me.

    Take strength from yours.

  8. That is a load of shit. They should be invite you to promote you more and your site. Hopefully it doesn't take long for them to realize that your hot ass sells porn for them and ignoring you doesn't help a damn thing. You should be in SF making them all jealous by drawing their crowd elsewhere.

  9. Maybe it's simply because you're a drama queen. Ever thought of that?

  10. Screw them. I am sure Treasure Island or one of the others who have offered you contract work since your HIV status was made public would have invited you to the events they held during Folsom Weekend. Time to move on the a better studio where your appreciated and your fans can continue to see you in action!

  11. Dear Mason Wyler,
There are people who will hurt your feelings, either intentionally or unintentionally, it does not matter. There are also also people who idolize you and consider you a very lucky and talented man for your insane success, charming personality, and pretty features. And then you have friends, who will build you back up if you let them know you've been broken down. Living with all of these three is inevitable, so it's good to blog out your thoughts and know that you are loved.

  12. Why don't you anonymous trolls just purchase a life, a clue, or failing that, just eat shit and die.

  13. silly it's because you're gay!

  14. Its easy to see you have a lot of folks who support you. No flurish of words; just stay strong to you.

  15. Who knows why people do what they do? Envy, embarrassment, love, hate, the list is endless. But I do know that there are a lot of people out here that you don't know or have ever heard of (like me, one of your MS friends) to whom you are a very special and loved person. You're just a free spirit whose wings have been a bit bruised and torn lately. But you can still SOAR, baby!! Wish I could give you a great big hug in person, but this will have to do:

  16. once again, proof that ure a drama queen. you wouldnt be missed if the worst ever happened.

    sorry dude.

  17. I suppose it is unfortunate, but there are a lot of us out there. You will find a lot of people who do not want to deal with you because you remind them of their own less than perfect records. It was a party, and there will be others to which you are not only invited but eagerly sought.

If you want to get more information about the world of Poz people, I recommend you check out POZ magazine. It provides a wealth of information about such things as drug regimens, legal and social issues unique to POZ people. I tried to ignore my status for the first two years, but that didn't turn out so well. Now, I stay as informed as possible, but I don't obsess over stuff. I just accept the facts and move on. Being neurotic about it just makes you feel bad and ultimately detracts from a happy life. I'm sure you still like to have sex as often as possible. Right? Nothing is a bigger buzz kill than obsessing over HIV.

When I looked at the photographs you have of yourself on your blog, I was struck by how very handsome you are. Not run of the mill handsome, but uniquely yours. As far as most of us who follow your career in porn and your blog, you are most certainly not a has-been. You are readjusting your life and will certainly find your footing, soon.

  18. Lame. Fuck 'em. It probably was a terrible party anyway. Karma...

  19. Isn't your contract up in February? Just wait till then. You'll have the world by the balls.

I think Next Door Studios are insane treating you like a leper. Like you're the only poz model in the world.

  20. Snide good Wyler humor, the title says it all. Thrown away by the Gay sex circuit. It happens when the face, reputation, age goes on the meat's market value. It's obvious unsaid that you weren't invited to a pornie celeb shindig because the topic of HIV and the new stable of boy/men actors might be tinged by association and related gossip to Mason Wyler's newly revealed Poz status. If the money and the work scenes come in, take it, and make you social life elsewhere. A porn studio and stripper club that calls their staff a family, watch out. Like the youtube.com channel IT GETS BETTER for young Queers to cheer up, there's matching IT GETS WORSE for some bitter reality checks about the Gay sex counterculture. You have a great amount of sex media credits, now some of the real ideas for a 2nd career can come in. Your fans and people who back your endeavors are still here. But really, porn biz. Take the money, leave the heart at home.

  21. To the "Anonymous" who's posting hurtful comments - get a fucking life you tool. My guess is you're some jilted or jealous asshole who is hiding behind his computer in order to say hurtful things to Mason for whatever reason. Or, maybe you just dig the attention that people, like me, are giving you. Well man up motherfucker. My email address is attached to my name. You want to go for a battle of wits - let me know. I'll check my brain at the door and we'll start even.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...signing your comment as "Anonymous" is a sign of sheer cowardice. Let me know who I should verbally attack for telling me to stay retired. Let Mason know who he should verbally attack for calling him a "drama queen."

In both cases, the reason one would choose to call themselves "Anonymous" is because you don't have the balls to risk either of us exposing you for your cowardice. In other words, you're not a man. For you do not stand behind your convictions as I have in what I say about the industry, or as Mason has in revealing his HIV status.

  23. is it because of teh AIDS???

    ReplyDelete
  24. "silly it's because you're gay!" comment it's actually mine and has nothing to do with the troll..oh and yeah it's ironic like many other comments can be,the fact he approves them maybe it's a clear sign that he couldn't give a flying fuck about a bunch of losers don't u think?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I know you still work for them...and may still care for some of the people you work with.

But...fuck them. That was tired, tacky move. There's nothing more to say, you should have been invited.

I've been thinking about this; went to your site and took note that you've been relegated to solos. I'm sure that you're not the first HIV positive performer (online or at a studio), and I think it's ignorant to treat you this way.

Statistically, there must be other dudes who are positive and doing porn. Is it ok to treat you differently because we know about your status? This is an opportunity for the industry to teach and learn and they are fucking it up big time.

I can't wait till you shake those fuckers and launch your own website.

  26. Mason - you posted about a house here in Vermont - leave all the plastic people behind and come live in the real world from now on. Everything is better with some fall leaves, snow and Ben & Jerrys. ;-)

  27. I say Next Year, we throw a "Jasun and Mason" party.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Dude, that stinks. I have watched your work for a while and like your work. You seem like a fun guy and that either makes you a great actor or a fun guy. Anyway, It blows what they did. There are plenty of parties you can go to and I'm sure they are at classier places than EndUp.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Mason, I have good news and possible bad news. The good news is that I think you were left out because they thought you might fuck a couple of guys or a couple of guys might want to fuck you. Honestly that's the truth. The good part is that they still think you're obviously undeniably desired. The bad part is that you have HIV now and you have to be extremely careful not to give it to anyone else, and that's what they're probably thinking they will avoid by not inviting you to the party. I'd invite you to a party of mine.

    E.H.

  35. Tre Xavier is a cunt.

Also, in your lame-ass poem, it is bidding not "biding." Those words mean different things. A poet should know this.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hey Mason, Don't worry about what other do. Be true to yourself, thats all that matters. Friends come and go all the time, but you have to live with you. If you feel like your being left out, get new friends. When the old one come back around, fuck 'em. You have new ones. You get the last laugh. I know it hurts right now, but if they were really friends, they would have know to invite you.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oh jeez Tre. Just go away. No one wants to hear about your sorry porn experiences.

    And learn how to spell.
